2 killed, 1 injured in downtown Atlanta – NBC10 Philadelphia

A woman shot two people and wounded a third Monday at two separate locations in the Midtown Atlanta area and was later taken into custody at the city’s airport, police said.
Atlanta police said they did not immediately know what led to the attack, but believe the victims were targeted. The name of the suspect has not been released.
“We do not believe that these were random acts of violence,” Interim Police Chief Darin Schierbaum said at a press conference.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting around 1:45 p.m. and found two victims in the first building. One of the victims died, the other was taken to the hospital, Atlanta police said.
There, police received another report of gunfire at a second building less than a mile (1.6 km) away. That victim was also taken to the hospital and later died. Atlanta police said they are investigating how the two sites are connected.
Law enforcement officers from several agencies descended on the Midtown area, ordering residents to stay inside while they canvassed the area. Atlanta police said an “extensive network of cameras” helped them track down the suspect, and she was eventually found at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Mayor Andre Dickens said the woman was arrested before entering the restricted area and that “airport security was never compromised.”
