5 Seconds of Summer will release their fifth album “5SOS5” later this year.
Hitmakers Me, Myself and I, who released their latest track this week, have confirmed plans for a future collection that will be available on September 23rd.
In a statement reflecting on the new single, frontman Luke Hemings said: “” Me Myself and I “explores the emotional cycle of feeling that you can do everything yourself and that you don’t need anyone else, but eventually realize that sometimes you’re repulsed from the best things in your life.
“We love this song and hope other people connect with it as much as we do.”
The premiere of the video for the song – the third single from the LP after “Take My Hard” and “Complete Mess” – will take place on YouTube tomorrow (13.05.22) at 22:00 BST / 17: 00 ET.
As for the new album, Luke described it as the “most introspective” and “beautiful” record to date.
Speaking to Zane Lowe at Apple Music 1, he explained: “The album is definitely very introspective. I think, like many people over the last couple of years, the only way to look inside. Well, for us anyway.
“And lyrically, I don’t know, everything that happened to us was a big topic. And not doing it every day and being on the road was a different experience for us.
“And the whole album for me is the most introspective, the most lyrical, so to speak, beautiful and … I don’t know. There are so many hearts in him. “
The album, which is now available for pre-order, will be released on its own via BMG, while earlier this week the band released a luxury CD, and the digital version will include 19 songs.
