A Conshohocken man faces prison time for drug dealing in Norristown

NORRISTOWN — A Conshohocken man who admitted to drug dealing in Norristown is scheduled to report to jail after the holidays.
Edwin S. Price, 40, of the 300 block of West Third Avenue, was sentenced by a Montgomery County judge to 2 1/2 to 6 years in the state penitentiary after pleading guilty to felony possession with intent to deliver of controlled substances in connection with incidents that occurred in Norristown between December 2019 and January 2020.
Judge Virgil B. Walker ordered Price to surrender to state prison officials on Jan. 2, 2023, to begin serving his sentence.
The investigation into Price, who also once lived in the 500 block of Stanbridge Street in Norristown, began in 2019 when county detectives received information from informants that Price was distributing various drugs, including heroin, fentanyl and oxycodone, in the area According to Noristov, precinct investigators filed a criminal case.
Investigators subsequently conducted several controlled drug buys in which informants purchased illegal drugs from Price at venues in Norristown between December 2019 and January 2020. Detectives conducting surveillance of the areas witnessed the drug transactions, court records show. documents.
On January 2, 2020, detectives obtained search warrants for two vehicles linked to Price, as well as his identity, and went to Price’s then Stanbridge Street residence to conduct those searches. Price is believed to have fled the area when police arrived.
Detectives apprehended Price as he tried to climb over a fence separating the yards of two homes in the 500 block of Stanbridge Street, according to an arrest affidavit.
When detectives searched one of the yards where Price tried to climb over the fence, they found a sandwich bag containing 14 blue wax packets containing a white powdery substance, court documents said. According to the criminal complaint, a search of two vehicles linked to Price turned up 2.0 grams of heroin, drug packaging materials and 1.2 grams of marijuana.
Detectives say a search of Price found additional bags of heroin and marijuana.
