DURYEA – An Old Forge woman followed her boyfriend to a residence in Duryea, where she climbed through a window and attacked him and his lover with a knife Wednesday, according to borough police.

Daryl Elesis Prutt-Meriwether, 39, was charged with burglary, aggravated assault, criminal trespass and simple assault. She was booked into the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 bail.

According to the criminal case:

Police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 1200 block of Main Street shortly before 11:30 a.m. when the woman and her daughter ran from the home to a neighbor’s.

Police said the woman was half-naked and covered in blood.

She told police she had been having sex with a man she had known for three or four years when the woman, identified as Prutt-Meriwether, came to her home.

The man told her Prutt-Meriwether was his girlfriend.

Pruitt-Meriwether tried to open the front door but was able to enter the home by climbing through a window, prompting the 15-year-old to rush into her mother’s bedroom screaming that a woman had just entered the home with a knife, the complaint said.

The woman claimed Prutt-Meriwether entered the bedroom and jumped on her, lunging at her with a knife, the complaint said.

Police said the woman suffered a laceration above her eye.

After attacking the woman, Prutt-Meriwether allegedly assaulted her boyfriend, who was reported as the woman and her daughter locked themselves in the bathroom.

Hearing no more noise, they emerged and ran to their neighbor.

The teenage girl told police Prutt-Meriwether was armed with a knife when she knocked on the window to be let in. Climbing through the window and running into the bedroom, Prutt-Meriwether yelled, “Really, while I’m at work?” before allegedly attacking the teenager’s mother.

Police found evidence of an assault with blood on the bathroom floor and throughout the bedroom.

State Police Forensic Officers investigated the scene and found a knife.

Prutt-Meriwether was arrested when she showed up at the Duryea Police Department looking for her vehicle, which had been towed earlier. She denies any involvement in the alleged attack.

Pruitt-Meriwether’s boyfriend suffered a facial laceration, police said.

When he was found by Old Forge police, he claimed to be a (expletive) girl in Duryea when Pruitt-Meriwether showed up and beat the (expletive) out of him, the complaint said.
