Another year air quality in Pittsburgh took a bad place

PITTSBURG (KDKA) – A recent study found that although air pollution has improved somewhat in recent years, Pittsburgh is still among the country’s worst air quality rankings.
According to the report of the American Lung Association on the state of the air (SOTA) for 2022, air quality in the United States is declining.
The report covers air quality statistics collected from 2018 to 2020.
Pittsburgh showed mixed results, reducing the average annual level of particulate pollution, while still not meeting the basic standards of daily ozone and particulate pollution.
Particle contamination is a trigger for asthma attacks and increases the risk of heart disease and lung cancer.
Experts mentioned that during the pandemic the level of pollution decreased for some time because people did not go to work as often as usual.
