“Be prepared for some real dysfunction! Just kidding”: Casey Affleck welcomes Jennifer Lopez to the family | Celebrities

Casey Affleck has quipped that Jennifer Lopez should “prepare for some real dysfunction” after tying the knot with his brother Ben.

The 47-year-old actor – who was conspicuously absent when his older brother married the ‘Waiting For Tonight’ hitmaker at his $8.9 million Georgia home on Saturday (20.08.22) – poked fun at the pair rekindling their relationship after of how he was previously engaged in 2002, and also called the 53-year-old star a “gem.”

Next to a photo of the trio in 2002, Casey captioned the message on Instagram: “Good things are worth waiting for.

“Here are twists, new beginnings and the search for new sources of old love.

“Welcome to the family. Get ready for some real dysfunction! Just kidding. I’m kidding.”

After a series of taunts, Casey ended on a touching note: “Jen, you’re a gem. We love you so much!!!”

His absence from the ceremony was initially unexplained, but a source later told PEOPLE it was “due to family, parental responsibilities at home.”

The Manchester by the Sea star has sons Indiana, 18, and Atticus, 14, with his ex-wife Summer Phoenix. Casey was also spotted out and about with his girlfriend Kaley Cowan in Los Angeles on Friday (19.08.22).

Despite this, their highly-anticipated wedding was attended by a host of famous friends of Ben, 50, and Jennifer, including actor Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barros, as well as director Kevin Smith and actor Jason Mewes.

The loved-up couple, who rekindled their romance last year, tied the knot for the first time in Las Vegas in July.

And then Jennifer announced this news to the world through her newsletter.

She wrote: “Last night we flew into Vegas, queued for licenses with 4 other couples and we were all on our way to the wedding capital of the world. We barely made it to the little white wedding chapel before midnight. They kindly stayed a few minutes late to let us take a photo in the pink Cadillac convertible apparently once used by the King himself (but if we wanted Elvis himself to show up, it cost extra and he was in bed).”

Jennifer also revealed that she wore a dress from an old film, while Ben wore a jacket from his closet to the ceremony.

She said: “We said our own vows in a small chapel and gave each other rings that we will wear for the rest of our lives. In the end, it was the best wedding we could have imagined.”

Marry Me star Jennifer has twins Max and Emme, 14, with third husband Marc Anthony, while Ben has Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
