Berks High School Award: May 23, 2022

Baseball
Mullenberg sophomore Cam Baer made 5.1 innings, conceded three runs, five strokes and one move and won a 10-7 victory over Exeter in the Berks League semi-finals. He was also 2-on-3 with three RBIs and scored one goal. In an 11-3 win over Oley Valley for the Berks title, Baer was 2-on-3 with RBI and two runs.
Softball
Senior Exeter Taylor Menzer went 2 to 3 with an RBI triple and a scored streak to lead the Eagles to a 4-2 victory over Brandywine Heights in the BCIAA Championship game. In the semifinals, she won the RBI singles in the eighth inning and secured a 6-5 victory over Twin Valley.
Lacrosse for boys
Wilson freshman Carter Bransinger scored six goals to lead the Bulldogs to victory in the first round of 3rd District 3 Class 3A over South Western 15-5.
Lacrosse for girls
Senior Jade Shearer has scored three goals, including the 100th of his career, in the Raiders ’20-6 District 3 Class 2A quarterfinal victory over Cocalico. Shearer also gave up three assists against the Eagles.
Track for boys
Luke Seymour, senior in the Schuilkill Valley, set a Class 3A District 3A record, winning 1,600 for 4: 16.53 in the District 3 Championship. Seymour also won a gold medal in the 800th with a score of 1: 57.37.
Track for girls
Senior in Tulpehocken Ella Aner was repeated as the champion in the 2A 100 class with the best in her career 12.53 and in the 200 at 26:13 in the district championship 3. Aner qualified for the state championship for the third time in her career. She also took third place in the 400 standings with a score of 1: 02.07.
Boys volleyball
Exeter sophomore Gage Gabriel scored 24 kills and five shots in a 3-1 win over Wilson in the first round match of the 3rd Class 3A District. In the quarterfinals, he scored eight assists and five in Warwick’s 3-0 defeat.
