Bethel Park School District mourns John Gentile’s favorite social studies teacher

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Bethel Park School District is a morning favorite teacher.

The county announced Tuesday that social science teacher at Bethel Park High School John Gentile has died.

“John was an excellent teacher and coach, and he was an incredibly respected and beloved member of the high school and high school staff,” the district said in a statement.

“We were heartbroken to learn of John’s untimely death, and we are still considering this devastating loss,” said Bethel’s superintendent assistant, Zeb Jansente, in a statement. “John embodied the spirit of Bethel Park in everything he did, and he made huge changes in the lives of his current and former students and student-athletes.

“Everyone who knew him will miss him.”

The district said administrators, counselors and social workers are available to all students and staff.
