In Pittsburgh, nothing is better to enjoy a beer or ride a bike when the weather starts to warm up. With East End Brewing’s Pedal Pale Ale Keg Ride you can have both at the same time. And after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, this popular event is back.

The Keg Ride, happening ffrom 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, participants and staff of the event will haul full barrels of beer by bike to a mysterious place. A beer and live music await everyone on arrival. Due to the weight of the barrel the bike ride will be slow and virtually no hills, not exceeding 11 miles.

The East End calls their Pedal Pale Ale the “perfect beer after cycling beer” they’ve been brewing since the event began in 2005. And although the brewery and kitchen will be closed until noon, the East End says it hopes to have breakfast items and coffee before the game.

Saturday’s trip will also be a fundraiser for Jeremiah’s Place, an organization from Larimer that provides “safe and affordable solutions for families in need”. Tickets, $ 20 for early attendance or $ 25 for regular admission, must be purchased prior to the day of the event and include a glass of East End Brewing.

Riders will depart from the brewery at 11 a.m., so don’t miss the ride. And don’t forget the helmets! Even if you consider yourself a professional racer, never stop being safe.
