President Biden – accompanied by one of his granddaughters, who was a first-time voter – cast his ballot on Saturday.

In-person early voting in his home state of Delaware, where Mr. Biden regularly returns for the weekend, began on Friday. Democrats across the country are urging voters to use early voting, either by mail or at the polls, wherever possible to maximize turnout.

Mr. Biden said he felt good about the midterm elections that will decide control of Congress for the next two years.

In the final days before the Nov. 8 election, Mr. Biden plans to ramp up his campaign travel, planning trips to Pennsylvania, Florida, New Mexico and Maryland to campaign for Democratic congressional and gubernatorial candidates.

“I will spend the rest of my time trying to prove that this is not a referendum. It’s a choice. A fundamental choice,” he said. “A choice between two very different visions of the country.”

Mr. Biden voted with his granddaughter, Natalie, who is 18. He also voted in Delaware last month when he made a short day trip to the state’s Sept. 13 primary.

There are no competitive congressional elections in Delaware this cycle.
