Cam Jones had a tie-breaking 6-yard run with 5:18 left to help Wilson beat Manheim Township 27-21 in a Lancaster-Lebanon Section 1 game Friday in Neffsville.

The Blue Stripes (4-2, 7-3) turned it over on downs at midfield on their final possession.

Declan Clancy tied the score for Township on a 45-yard run with 10:46 left.

The Bulldogs (4-1, 8-2) will open the District 3 Class 6A playoffs on Nov. 11 or 12. The final district power rankings will be released at 10 a.m. Sunday

Township took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on an 18-yard pass from Hayden Johnson to Landon Nursery.

Wilson scored on Tommy Hunsicker’s 8-yard run to cap a 12-play, 80-yard drive. After the Blue Stripes were penalized for an illegal substitution, the Bulldogs decided to go for two and Jones ran it to put Wilson up 8-7.

Jones got the Bulldogs started in the second half with a 38-yard run on the first play from scrimmage. Nick Weitzel threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Adam Woods to end the drive and give Wilson a 14-7 lead. The Bulldogs’ two-point conversion run failed.

The Blue Stripes tied the game on Johnson’s 18-yard run with 5:10 left in the third quarter.

Wilson pulled back to make it 21-14 on Jones’ 54-yard run with 3:20 left in the third.
