Car overturned, 1 injured in crash in southeast Berks

DOUGLAS — One driver was injured Tuesday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash at Old Douglas Drive and Benjamin Franklin Highway that left one vehicle overturned and two others badly damaged, Douglas Township police said.

According to police, the accident happened around 12:45 a.m. when one vehicle made a wrong turn and was struck by another vehicle, causing one vehicle to overturn.

One person was taken to Redding Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, and all others involved in the crash were uninjured, according to police.

As a result of the accident, all three cars were out of order, they had to be towed.

The area around the intersection was closed for about an hour while emergency crews cleared the scene.
