Coldplay extended the Music of the Spheres tour until 2023 | Music

Coldplay have added a pair of UK dates to their ‘Music of the Sphere’ world tour.
Chris Martin and company will now play Manchester’s Etihad Stadium and Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on 1 and 6 June 2023 as part of an extensive world tour.
And it seems that it will continue.
A tweet on the band’s official Paradise page read: “NEW UK / EUROPE DATES ANNOUNCED Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2023 // On sale 10am Thursday http://coldplay.com // More shows for #MOTSWT.”
So far the band have performed with special guests including Selena Gomez, Natalia Imbruglia, All Saints’ Shaznay Lewis, Craig David and even comedy legend Alan Partridge (Steve Coogan) who joined them for covers of Kate Bush and ABBA hits in the stadium” Wembley” at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Chris recently revealed that he hopes to take a tour on a milk-powered plane.
The eco-friendly band is committed to using renewable energy whenever they’re on the road, and the musician wants to push the boundaries even further in the coming years.
He shared, “We’re about halfway to where we want to go. We have a hard time with transport.
“That’s where we need help and we need to develop the technology so that we can fly a plane that runs on milk or something like that. So if someone builds an airplane based on milk…”
Chris also admitted that he and his bandmates don’t really feel like the stars of the show in their current run.
He said: “People come to see us. But they really come to be a part of something.
“We’re pretty much just the house band, and everyone else proves to be entertaining. Especially after or during COVID, it’s a chance to let go and be free. That’s what we want to encourage in our audience and in ourselves.”
Chris admitted last year that his environmental ambitions still had a “long way to go”.
The 45-year-old singer said he’s constantly looking for ways to reduce emissions while he’s on the road.
He said: “We’ve been working with some amazing minds to see how we can reduce our impact on the environment as much as possible.
“We still have quite a long way to go, but we’ve come quite a long way already. And there are some things that we didn’t dream were possible, but they are possible.”
