Common sense is the key to road safety

Editor:

Thanks for your editorial on May 18 (“Safe ride to enjoy the spring rites”). It has reminders that we all need to hear about our responsibility on the roads today.
Wouldn’t it be great if next year at this time it could be reported that there has been a reduction in accidents and deaths?

It’s all about common sense, stay alert and defensive management.

When we get in our cars to go somewhere, let’s do our best to get home safely, realizing that others are doing the same thing.
Distracted and weakened control kills. We must put safety first.
