Convicted sex offender faces 1,000 counts of possession of child pornography

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — An Erie man have already faced charges for trying to meet with a 13-year-old girl from Connellsville facing more charges for having sex.
Investigators say Jason Mills is facing more felony charges after they say pornographic images were found on his cell phone.
Mills was first arrested in December 2021 for allegedly trying to pick up a child he met on Snapchat from Connellsville High School by claiming he was her relative, officials said. Police said Mills drove three hours from Erie to Connellsville to pick up the girl.
In accordance with Pennsylvania Megan’s Law website, Food is a registered sex offender. It shows Mills was convicted of two counts of indecent assault involving a minor in 2010.
During his arrest in December 2021, Mills’ phone was taken as evidence. Nearly nine months later, a forensic investigation by law enforcement found a large amount of alleged child pornography on the device.
“We found out that there were thousands of child pornography on the phone,” said Cpl. Brian Kendy of the Connellsville Police Department said. “It was very clear.”
Mills, 32, remains in the Fayette County Jail without bond on the previous charges. He now faces more than 1,000 charges of possession of child pornography.
