Display Week 2022: Samsung, LG will showcase future sophisticated screens in California

San Francisco, May 11: The display giants Samsung and LG on Wednesday showcased future sophisticated screens, moving from existing single designs to twice as complex as a three-fold wallet, and displays that fold in both inside and out.
At the annual Display Week conference in California on May 10-12, the South Korean giants showcased revolutionary displays, including double-sided mobile sliding screens, new sophisticated gaming displays and the most advanced quantum dot display technology for the large display market. Samsung is completing the construction of a display production unit moved from China to Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
Samsung Display has demonstrated its 12.4-inch retractable display with a panel that expands the screen horizontally – on both sides. The Flex OLED zone demonstrated the Flex G, which folds inward twice, and the Flex S, which folds both inward and outward.
The company’s 6.7-inch sliding product also debuted at Display Week, which is expanding upwards, as opposed to existing mobile sliding displays that stretch horizontally. This opportunity is beneficial for working with documents, as well as for publications on social networks, the company said.
Samsung Display has also demonstrated a “Gaming Foldable OLED” display that allows you to attach controllers from both ends, but can also be folded in half. This year, LG Display introduced a completely new form of sophisticated OLED technology – 8-inch 360-degree Foldable OLED, which folds freely both inside and out.
The screen can be folded more than 200,000 times without compromising its performance thanks to the stable structure of the module. It also uses a special sophisticated structure to minimize shrinkage while providing a comfortable and advanced user experience, the company noted.
LG Display also introduced to the public for the first time a new generation of OLED solutions with a 97-inch OLED.EX TV, the largest of its kind. The company has demonstrated a 42-inch “Bendable OLED Gaming” display that boasts a range of curvature up to 1000R or a radius of 1000 mm.
