A woman who claims the NFL star infected her with an incurable sexually transmitted disease sued Miami Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard on Thursday in Broward County.

Miami Herald the lawsuit is reported to have been filed anonymously by a woman seeking more than $30,000 in damages and a jury trial.

In the lawsuit, the woman claims she met Howard in 2018 at the lab and asked her out. The former second-round pick in the 2016 NFL draft told the woman he did not have an STD and showed her the negative test result.

The woman said that in 2019, Howard found out he had contracted genital herpes but did not tell her.

“Knowing about his terminal venereal disease and not disclosing it, Defendant Howard continued to engage in unprotected sex with Plaintiff without informing her of the same,” the lawsuit states.

The woman tested positive in 2021 and claims Howard was the only person who could have passed it on to her. Howard reportedly denied having an STD, but later admitted he did.

“Mooah, they told me I’m sorry I gave it to you,” he told her, according to the lawsuit. “But what should I do now? The damage is done. You keep bringing it up as if it’s going to make a difference.”

The woman claims she felt she had no choice but to continue having sex with Howard for fear of passing the disease on to someone else.

NBC 6 reached out to the Dolphins for comment, but did not hear back.

Howard recorded 20 tackles and five pass breakups for the Dolphins, who face the Detroit Lions this Sunday. In April, he signed a new five-year contract worth just over $50 million.
