In the open air
A walk through the sunflowers: Through Aug. 26 at 10 Pebble Lane, Tamaqua (next to Heisler’s Milk Bar), from 1 to 8 p.m., weather permitting, walk the trails of 16 acres of sunflowers and cut stems to create your own bouquet for $10 per person, carriage fare, $5 per family. Pets are welcome as long as they are friendly and on a leash. Other weekend events include Mitchell’s Grill & Catering, music and King Cole Winery.
Replacing plants: Saturday, September 10, 2:00 p.m. Sweet Arrow Lake, Waterfall Pavilion. Pot the extra plants, label them and bring them to the plant exchange point. Take extra plants from a division or seedling and exchange them for an equivalent number of different plants. Includes flowers, herbs, vegetables, houseplants, trees/shrubs, soil and bulbs/tubers. Please tag popsicle sticks, recycled plastic spoons and forks, or tongues cut from plastic milk jugs or plastic strawberry/fruit trays. Inquiries: 570-345-2637.
