Washington [US]May 4 (ANI): American Technology Conglomerate Facebook cooperates with the Government of India to deploy a vaccine search tool in its mobile app in India that will help people identify places nearby to get vaccinated.
According to Mashable, earlier this week Facebook announced a $ 10 million grant to respond quickly to the COVID-19 situation in the country. The vaccine tracking tool will allow users to find the nearest locations of vaccine centers and their opening hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
The tracker tool will also aggregate and display login options (for ages 45 and up) along with a link to register on the Cowin portal and schedule vaccinations.
Facebook said in a statement on its platform: “Partnership with the Government of India, Facebook will begin deploying a vaccine search tool on Facebook a mobile app in India available in 17 languages to help people identify places nearby to get the vaccine ”.
The company said it would also team up with NGOs and agencies – namely, United Way, Swasth, Hemkunt Foundation, I Am Gurgaon, Project Mumbai and the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) – to host the announced funds. to help build a stockpile of critical medical supplies from more than 5,000 oxygen concentrators and other rescue equipment such as fans, BiPAP devices.
According to Mashable, Facebook also said that the COVID-19 Information Center and the Feed will also have information on how to seek immediate care and how to deal with mild symptoms of COVID-19 at home and this will be provided by UNICEF in India. (ANI)
