Fire pours from a garbage truck, stops the Freedom Bridge

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A large plume of black smoke rose into the sky over the Freedom Bridge when a garbage truck caught fire on Tuesday afternoon.

A truck was crossing the bridge from the exit side when a fire broke out.

What caused the fire is still unclear.

The situation is causing problems with transport in the city. Drivers are advised to avoid this area as the Freedom Bridge and Tunnels are closed in both directions.

Firefighters need to move the garbage truck. After that, an inspection team will arrive to inspect the bridge.
