Frailey tallies 3 RBIs, 4 runs; The Reds topped the Pirates 9-5

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Jake Fraley had three RBIs and scored four times to lead the Cincinnati Reds to a 9-5 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday.

Fraley led off Sunday by hitting an 0-2 curveball off Zach Thompson (3-10) 341 feet to right for his seventh homer and fourth in six games. He walked in three of the next four at-bats and drove in two runs with a single off the right-field wall in the sixth.

Cincinnati has taken two of three against Pittsburgh, which has lost eight of 10.

Reds left-hander Mike Minor (2-10) won for the first time since June 13 despite giving up five runs on nine hits.

Minor gave up two in the first but regained a 3-2 lead when Mike Moustakas hit a two-run home run in the third that traveled 416 feet and landed in the bottom row over the right-field wall.

Frailey drove in the third of Manny Buñuelas’ four runs in the sixth, moving to second on his two-run single before going home on Jonathan India’s triple. Donovan Solano capped the blast with an RBI single to make it 7-2.

Thompson was replaced by Buñuelos after he used 78 pitches to get through five innings, allowing three runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and three walks.

Minor’s outing ended with a two-out, two-run double off Tucupita Markano in the sixth. Jason Delay drove in Marcano with a single out of Ian Gibeau, cutting the deficit to two.

Fraley scored the fourth time on Solano’s single in the eighth. Then an RBI single by Nick Senzel pushed the lead to four.
