“Jane the Virgin” is going to be a mom in real life!
Gina Rodriguez, who played the titular character on the CW series, and husband Joe Losicer are expecting their first child together. She announced her pregnancy Instagram She turned 38 on July 30.
“This birthday is different,” the actress wrote alongside a video montage of romantic moments between the pair, including a selfie of her holding a positive home pregnancy test.
The star received many congratulatory comments from celebrities like Viola Davissinger Andy Grammer and Edwin Hodge – who starred in Good Sam, which Rodriguez directed.
Also sharing their best wishes were Diana Maria Riva – who starred with the expectant mother in Our Family Wedding and Kajillionaire, Joseph Julian Soria – who starred with her in Enter A Dangerous Mind and Philly Brown, Ariel Kebbel — who appeared with her on an episode of The Talk in 2018, and Derek Houghwho appeared in a 2016 episode of Jane the Virgin.
Rodriguez’s pregnancy announcement video is set to Calum Scott’s 2018 song “You Are The Reason” and features the spoken quote: “Anyone wants you, but love is different when someone truly appreciates you.”
The 35-year-old couple got married in 2019three years after them debuted on the red carpet as a couple.
While her husband didn’t post about her pregnancy on his Instagram, he did share her birthday a tribute to his wife on Instagram on the day of her announcement. “Wherever you go, my heart follows us,” he wrote. “Happy birthday my goddess. @hereisgina”
Rodriguez commented, “Me and the baby love you dad.”
