Gina Rodriguez is pregnant.

The Jane the Virgin star took to social media on Saturday (30/07/22) – on her 38th birthday – to reveal she is expecting her first child with husband Joe Losicer.

Gina posted a video montage of romantic moments between the pair, and the sweet clip included a selfie of her holding a positive pregnancy test.

A number of stars sent messages of congratulations to the parents-to-be, with Brittany Snow, who starred in Gina’s Someone Great, writing: “Yaaaaaah my love!! So much love for you THREE.”

Viola Davis wrote: “Congratulations.”

Danielle Brooks added: “Welcome to the club mom!!!”

Earlier, Gina admitted that she desperately wanted to become a mother, but joked that she did not want to go through pregnancy.

When asked if she wanted a baby in a 2016 interview, the actress said: “I do.

“But I don’t want the whole process, I just want one to come like a stork talking.

“I could adopt, right? Yes, I could do that. I definitely want to adopt.”

Discussing working with the babies on ‘Jane’s Girl’, Gina added: ‘I feel like they’re bringing the baby to me and my ovaries are like, ‘Ah! Come here baby!”

Gina and Joe married in 2019 and explained the joy of falling in love after her engagement a year earlier.

She said: “I don’t even want to say it’s happening. I just want to live! I think it’s a great blessing that people care. It’s a beautiful thing, so it’s very good. But the other part I want to keep this – something that is only mine, because I don’t have many such things anymore.
