Gugu Mbatha-Rau wishes she would nap better.

The 39-year-old actress admires her “Elevator” co-star Kevin Hart because he is “a master” at falling asleep during breaks in filming, because she “very rarely” can completely rest during the day, even if she feels exhausted.

She told Total Film magazine: “I wish I could [sleep on set]. I feel like it’s such a skill.

“I just worked with Kevin Hart, who is a master at napping, and can go back to the trailer and just rest for 20 minutes.

“Sometimes I try to put my feet up on the wall and do a relaxing yoga pose. And I try to at least lie down.

“But I very rarely fall into a deep sleep. Maybe I’ll just nod and someone knocks on the door.”

To mark the end of filming, Gugu presented Kevin with a very personal gift.

She explained: “I painted a portrait of Kevin Hart as a gift.

“After the pandemic, I started painting a lot more and made a lot of portraits.

“Since our movie is really about art theft, and it’s all about art, it was a fun gift because he got interested in art while filming.”

The former “Morning Show” actress is disappointed that none of her projects have had closing parties in recent years.

She said: “They seem to have been outlawed since the pandemic. It’s so sad.

“I haven’t been in any for a whole century.

“I had a great time at the Morning Show closing party a couple of years ago.

“Because my character had a pretty sad and intense journey, I was really excited to see everyone again.

“This is probably the last party I went to before the pandemic. It was so nice to see each and every one of my cast mates and be in a happy mood.”
