Harry Styles’ mum slams ‘snarky comments’ about Don’t Worry Darling | Celebrities

Harry Styles’ mother has hit out at ‘snarky comments’ about her son’s latest film ‘Don’t Worry Darling’.
Ann Twist posted a glowing review of Olivia Wilde’s psychological thriller, which stars her How It Was hitmaker son as workaholic Jack Chambers, and the comments section was flooded with nasty remarks about the film.
Her message read: “First time in French cinema .. first day of screening .. “Don’t worry dear” you were wonderful!
“Loved it from start to finish. Well done @oliviawilde and team for getting us on board, well done @harrystyles for being a wonderful Jack. Very proud, as usual.”
Anne has since taken to her Instagram story to share how “upset” she is that so much negativity is being poured on the film and its cast, which also includes Florence Pugh and Chris Pine.
She wrote: “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything.
“Frankly, I am surprised and saddened by the harsh comments. I liked the movie. If that’s not your cup of tea, don’t go…”
She concluded: “If you don’t like me.. please don’t follow me. It’s simple.”
Her post comes just days after Olivia opened up about ‘weird rumours’ that Harry had spat on Chris.
Footage of the Late Night Talking singer and his co-star premiering their film at the Venice Film Festival recently went viral, with many speculating that Harry spat on Chris.
However, a representative for the latter dismissed the 28-year-old star’s online accusations as he took a seat next to his 42-year-old co-star before the show.
Harry even joked about the gate during a concert in New York.
And the director – aka Harry’s girlfriend – had her say on the “drama”.
Speaking on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Olivia said, “I think another one of our weird rumors, Spit-Gate, that you might have heard about . . .”
Kobert then stepped in and asked, “Harry Styles spit on Chris Pine, why or why not? Support your answer.”
Laughing, Olivia replied, “No, no.
“But I think it’s a great example of how people will look for drama wherever they can. Harry didn’t actually spit on Chris…”
The host then teased his guest, adding, “Only time will tell.”
Olivia smiled back, “No, not really.”
A spokesperson for Chris said in a statement: “This is a ridiculous story – a complete fabrication and the result of a bizarre internet illusion that is clearly deceptive and provides an opportunity for foolish speculation.
“To be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine.”
The clip fueled rumors of a rift between the pair.
But a spokesperson confirmed that they have “nothing but respect” for each other and that the speculation was unfounded.
The spokesman added: “There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a clear attempt to create drama that simply does not exist.”
As Harry celebrated his landmark 10th concert in New York on September 7, the former One Direction star joked about the fiasco.
He told the crowd: “This is our 10th show at Madison Square Garden, it’s great, great, great to be back here.
“I just popped into Venice to spit on Chris Pine, but never fear, we’re back!”
