Idris Elba hopes to work with Leonardo DiCaprio.

The 49-year-old star revealed that she met the Hollywood heartthrob at a party and wants to star in a movie with the Wolf of Wall Street actor.

Idris told the Daily Mail’s Eden Confidential column: “I was at a friend’s party recently and he was there and we got talking.

“I just felt like, you know what, I’d like to work with this dude.

“He’s a really nice guy and obviously he’s an incredible actor, but you know when you just get a vibe with somebody and you’re like, ‘Okay, Leo, let’s go.’ Watch this space.”

It was recently reported that Idris has re-entered the frame to become the next James Bond.

The Luther star has often been tipped to replace Daniel Craig as 007, but is believed to have been in talks with film executives about playing the villain in the next film in the long-running spy franchise.

However, he is now said to be back in the fray as he addressed viewers in secret research.

A source said: “Idris has long been in talks for a role in the next era of the James Bond story and was considered for the role of the antagonist last year.

“However, talk of him playing the lead role started again when the producers realized how popular he would be after conducting secret market research.

“It ranked high among the diverse group of film lovers invited to participate.

“They didn’t want to see him as an enemy — they want him to be a hero.”

Idris has previously admitted that he would jump at the chance to take on the role of Bond.

He said: “James Bond is a much-loved, iconic, beloved character who takes audiences on this huge journey of escapism.

“Of course if someone said to me, ‘Do you want to play James Bond?’, I’d say, ‘Yes!’
