Bakery products will be sold.

The Auxiliary Unit of the American Legion of Bedford 113 will hold an annual sale of holiday pastries from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 5 in the ballroom on the ground floor, 3721 U.S. 220, Bedford. Proceeds help veterans and society.

Tree lighting is set for November 23rd.

The annual Christmas tree lighting will take place in the New Paris area at 7pm on November 23 in front of the memorial in the community building.

The holiday will take place in December.

An old-fashioned Christmas celebration at Old Bedford Village will take place from 5pm to 9pm on December 4 and December 11. Visitors will be able to see how people celebrated Christmas in the 1700s and 1800s. Hot cider and cookies will be available, and the shop and post office will be open with refreshments. The carolers will show live seasonal music. Visitors who donate $ 10 in cash or $ 10 worth of pet food to the Bedford County Humane Society will receive free cookies and hot chocolate. Admission to the Village will cost $ 10 for adults, $ 8 for children and free for children under 5.

The Bedford Division of the Salvation Army will serve a free Thanksgiving celebration on November 25 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 106 W. Penn St., in Bedford Public Square. The menu will include roasted turkey, toppings, mashed potatoes, vegetables, gravy and pumpkin pie. Food reservations are required by calling 814-623-8813 until 3pm on 19 November. Meals will be shared in take-out containers at the entrance to the ramp on Penn Street from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving. Organizers said this year they are cooking and serving food to a limited crew to minimize any crowding in the kitchen, and they are looking forward to the return of the servers for dinner in 2022.

Swag, wreath sale on December 4th.

The annual sale of Christmas souvenirs and wreaths at Egolf Park will take place from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on December 4 in the park pavilion located at the corner of Maine and Egolf roads, Bedford. Packages for doors and windows will cost $ 15, wreaths – $ 20, and bows can be purchased for $ 5. Swags and wreaths can be pre-ordered. All proceeds are used to further improve Egolf Park. Tickets for tours home are on sale.

Tickets for the Christmas tour of the Bedford County Garden Club from 13:00 to 16:00 on December 4 and December 5 go on sale: Juli’s Wearable Art in Bedford; Bedford Visitor Office; and Everett Pharmacy. Cost $ 12; tickets will cost $ 15 at the entrance. The tour includes the ladies of Toda and Alison Smith at 300 S. Juliana St .; Bill and Colin Brenner, 624 E. Watson St .; and the Blue Moon B&B, run by Holly Hausar, at 308 E. Penn St. Fort Bedford Museum will open with light drinks and raffle baskets.

The Historical Society of Shelsburg and the Old Log Church are sponsoring the Frosty and Friends snowman decoration competition. Snowmen need to be decorated and returned on November 28.
