Indiana Free Library offers weekly programs | News

The Indiana Free Library welcomes the public to its free programs for the week beginning Monday.

• 10.30 – 11.30, Book Kids. This program engages the little ones in stories, singing songs, learning some things and working on a very easy craft during the program. This event is for children from birth to 2 years. No registration is required, the program is free and open to the public.

• 18:00 – 20:00, Trick-or-treat in the library. Stop for a treat. From 6 to 8 p.m., the children’s section will have treats, tricks, and even a special Halloween movie. Do not forget to congratulate the children’s librarian Valya.

1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, story time in the coop

This fun educational program is designed for children ages 3 to 5. Participants will visit chick girls and watch their funny antics in a video clip, read a few stories, catch up a little, play a little and work on needlework. No registration is required, the program is free and open to the public.

• 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Kindergarten Cruise. Registration for the Kindergarten Cruise is closed for this session; only registrants can attend. The next session will be held in January.

• 12pm to 1pm, IFL Taster’s Club. This club meets every first Wednesday of the month to share culinary experiences with other members. Stop by and choose your recipe.

• 19:00 – 20:00, IFL Board of Trustees meeting.

1:00 p.m., virtual episode of Checkers. Checkers TV is a weekly edutainment program featuring the inventor of Checkers, his robotic sidekick Snoozer and a host of special guests including medical professionals, community leaders, police and firefighters, and other guests in highly produced 30-minute episodes. Episodes will be posted directly to the Facebook page and website every Thursday around 1:00 p.m

• 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Storytime for Wee Ones.

Storytime for the Wee Ones is for newborns to 3-year-olds on Saturdays and includes stories about county, state and other types of fairs across the country and around the world. The public asked for a weekend story for working moms who want to but can’t come to the weekday program.

• 1-3 p.m., House of Crafts. Independent arts and crafts for children 6-12 years old. Stop by and work on something fun with your friends. All materials will be provided for each week’s activities. No registration is required, the program is free and open to the public. This week’s craft will be autumn leaves painted with a sponge.
