Spring has finally come, and now is the perfect time to go out of town to have fun, relax and have a cold beer.

Park ’til Dark is the perfect opportunity to experience it all. It’s a full day of free family fun activities in South Park, complemented by the annual Pour at the Park beer tasting. Pour at the Park is a fundraiser Alegen County Parks Foundation. Park ’til Dark and Pour at the Park will take place in South Park on May 14, making it “one full day, two wonderful events!”

The Park ’til Dark entertainment begins with a free outdoor yoga class at The Fairgrounds at 7:30 a.m. in partnership with Queer Pittsburgh. Or bring the whole family for a guided tour of historical sites, including the Cascades and the Kashmir Valley from 10 a.m. to noon. Take another journey back in history at Meet the Millers with casual presentations at Oliver Miller Homestead from 1pm to 4pm.

Additional free activities include a ranger-led bird walk in partnership with Outdoor Afro from 9am to 11am. If cycling is your sport, sign up for Bike the Park with Pro Bike + Run from 3.30pm to 5pm in partnership with Black Girls Do Bike. Visit the UPMC health plan at The Fairgrounds for free health check-ups from 12.00 to 16.00, where there are also fun activities for children.

Have you ever considered geocaching as a fun way to take more steps? Venture Outdoors conducts classes to learn how to retrieve “treasures” from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. The Pittsburgh Cricket League offers a free clinic for this unique sport on the park’s cricket field from 12:30 to 14:30. Bring your puppy for a free professional photo shoot at the dog park without a leash from 2.30pm to 4pm.

After this full day of relaxation stay at Pour at the Park, an annual fundraiser for beer and outdoor tastings for projects in the parks. The event features local craft beers, brick-fired pizzas, grilled meats and healthy vegan dishes. Enjoy live blueberry music from local band The Turpentiners and fun activities for young people aged 6 to 15 at Coach Dave’s Camp children’s camp. Tickets for this event, which runs from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, cost from $ 10 to $ 55. The full ticket price includes a stainless steel tasting cup.
