Iron Maiden artist Derek Riggs to perform at Record Connection in Ephrata | entertainment

Aside from catchy songs and riffs, one of the most distinctive aspects of iconic British heavy metal band Iron Maiden is its popular album cover mascot, “Eddie”.

Artist Derek Riggs created the popular character – a skeleton with long, spiky hair that first appeared on Iron Maiden’s self-titled 1980 debut – and will be on hand for a signing at the Record Connection in Ephrata on Tuesday, November 1.

Riggs will be in the store from 3 to 8 p.m. There is no cover charge, but prices for personal items will range from $5 for buttons and stickers to $80 for a signed copy of Riggs’ book Run for Cover.

Riggs’ iconic persona subsequently appeared regularly on albums, singles and EP covers until 1992, and occasionally thereafter.
