Jamie Lee Curtis Announces ‘Halloween Ends’ Simultaneous Release – NBC10 Philadelphia

Michael Myers and Lori Strode return to Haddonfield, Illinois for one last reunion.
The best part? You don’t have to leave your home to witness it. The self-proclaimed ultimate girl Jamie Lee Curtis announced on August 23 that “Halloween is over“–the final installment in the beloved slasher series–premiering simultaneously in theaters and on Peacock October 14.
Jamie Lee shared the exciting news in an Instagram video aptly set in a mysterious forest (with Michael himself making several appearances).
“You all know I’ve played Laurie Strode for over four decades, and over that time she’s been relentlessly pursued by Michael Myers,” she began. “Well, it all ends this Halloween. And I’m very proud of our latest film, Halloween Ends, and how it brings this saga to a fitting conclusion. I can’t wait for people to see it.”
And with the Peacock running day and date from its theatrical release, Jamie Lee is hoping as many people as possible will turn up.
Can’t choose between the two options? Take her advice: “You can go to the theater, then watch it again at home, then go back to the theater and watch it again at home.”
“No spoilers,” Jamie Lee added, “but I have a feeling you can do it.”
The video then ended with a heartfelt thank you to Halloween fans.
“It’s been the honor of my life to play Laurie Strode, and no matter how you watch this final chapter, I hope you’ll rally and scream and cheer and hold your breath until the end, because we created it for you,” she she said. “And I thank you for your support over the years and how much you care about this story and me, your latest girl.”
“Halloween Ends” opens in theaters Peacock on Friday, October 14.
(E! and Peacock are part of the NBCUniversal family.)
