John Boyega co-wrote the script for the sequel Attack the Block | Entertainment news

John Boyega co-wrote the sequel to “Attack the Quarter”.
The 30-year-old actor reprises his role as Moses in the follow-up to the 2011 sci-fi comedy and revealed that he had a big hand in the script with director Joe Cornish.
In an interview with Collider, John said: “The process was fantastic. The story was actually pitched by me and Joe Cornish. We worked very closely together to create a story that made sense for Moses and the other characters, and new characters that will also appear in the sequel.
“Also, there are different points of view in writing this: Joe has his point of view and I have mine.”
The original film follows a gang in London that must defend itself against alien invaders, and John says the picture will reflect the changes that have taken place in the city since the first film.
The Star Wars actor explained: “London has changed so much, in so many different ways, in the years since the first film came out. We’re just trying to make sure we’re exploring all of that, bringing a whole different feel to that crazy first movie we did.”
Boyega confirmed that the “backbone of the story” is finished and suggested that it won’t be too long before the film begins production.
He said: “We are quite close. We’re getting there. Obviously, we don’t want to tell anyone the dates because we want to take care of the creative process.
“We have the basic backbone of the story, but we’re still in the lab, just checking that the story is correct. History is everything.”
John continued, “But it won’t be long. I’ve given them the drums to speed up the process. Hopefully we’ll have word soon when we’re in London messing around.”
