Jon Voight broke down in tears in front of Donald Trump, recalling how he offered to pay for a golfer’s cancer treatment.
The 83-year-old actor interviewed the former US president and reminded him of how he offered to help an employee named Sally at one of his golf courses when she became ill.
Speaking on a ‘Newsmax’ documentary, John told Donald: ‘You went in and you said, ‘She… let her come to me,’ and you went into one of the offices and she came in, and you said, ‘I heard, that you have a little difficulty.’ And she said, “Well, I have.” Do you understand? I’m starting to get emotional. It’s from… you keep saying champ, can’t look at champ without crying. Well, I can’t get through this story without crying. And you said, let me take care of — take care of, whatever it takes.”
The Oscar-winning star told the billionaire businessman he was “grateful” for him in “so many ways” as he fought back tears.
He added: “Anyway, I’m just very grateful for your presence in so many areas.
In response, Donald said, “Well, first of all, I think it’s as nice as you put it. And even the little tears that come, you’re just a fantastic person.”
Meanwhile, John told the 76-year-old politician – who served as Republican president of the United States between 2016 and 2020 until he was defeated by Democrat Joe Biden – that he was “sure” he would run again, but that “we can’t waiting too long,” and while Donald didn’t respond to that, he argued that unless “very big things happen” in the U.S. soon, there won’t be a “turnaround.” “
Donald said: “Unless some very big things happen very soon, there can be no turnaround.”
John replied: “I keep getting told, is Donald Trump going to run? I say he will definitely run, but we can’t wait too long.”
