Katy Perry refuses to hire a full-time nanny.
The ‘Teenage Dream’ singer insisted she wants to be as active as possible with her and fiance Orlando Bloom’s two-year-old daughter Daisy, even though she has a full work schedule.
Speaking on the ‘SmartLess’ podcast, she said: ‘I work hard and I’ve always worked hard.
“I have a wonderful nanny, but I don’t have a full-time nanny because I feel like if I had a full-time nanny, I would never know how to look after my daughter as I was meant to be.”
The 37-year-old singer is in “mommy mode” over the weekend from her residency in Las Vegas, and even though she has “sleep tremors,” she’s still getting up early to be with her little girl.
She said: “It doesn’t matter if I’ve got a show that goes on at 11pm the night before, I wake up at 6am and we’re going to have breakfast.”
Kathy recalled a recent incident that highlighted why she “wants to be involved” in raising her children as much as possible.
She said: “She’s two so now she’s saying new words every day.
“And the other day she was saying some words that I didn’t teach her, and I said, ‘Damn it!’ It’s not very good.”
And the “American Idol” judge couldn’t have asked for better support than Orlando, who also has an 11-year-old son, Flynn, with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
She said: “Dad is the best.”
The “Hot n Cold” hitmaker recently explained that she can’t wait to take her daughter on tour with her.
She said: “I love to travel and now I’m taking my daughter and I want to see the experience again through her eyes. I like being a mom. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made in my life.
At the time, Katie added that parenthood had allowed her to “grow up so much” and that she was “born” into motherhood.
She added: “I grew up like that. [It’s] just the opportunity to see the world again with the same beautiful eyes – and joy.” To breathe a new breath of life into everything. It’s like being reborn, too.”
