‘Little Demon’: Lucy and Danny DeVita preview ‘Father-Daughter Relationship’ cartoon | Entertainment news

FXX is gearing up for a father-daughter tale like no other with the release of a new animated series A little demon.
Set 13 years after Laura’s reluctant mother (Aubrey Plaza) was impregnated by Satan (Danny DeVito), she and her daughter Antichrist Chrissy (Lucy De Vito) trying to lead an ordinary existence in the state of Delaware. But their lives are constantly interrupted by sinister forces, including Satan, who hopes to gain custody of his daughter’s soul.

“We’re playing father and daughter, but in a very fictional world,” Lucy DeVito says of the dynamic with her real-life father, Danny DeVito. TV Insider caught up with the duo while attending the Disney Upfronts in May, where they spilled some interesting details. “It’s a crazy comedy with mythical creatures in different realms, but it’s based on the basic relationships between families,” adds Lucy.
Satan is a little nicer than some might think when it comes to his desire to bond with his daughter. “I’m trying to tell her that hell is nice to come to. He’s got a bad rap,” Danny says of his character’s attempts to convince Chrissy that she should spend more time with him. “There’s also a lot of mother-daughter stuff going on with the 13-year-old that I don’t get involved in,” he says.

Whatever their on-screen relationship is, Lucy says, “it’s special” to share the experience with her dad, brother Jake DeVito and mother Rhea Perlman. Jake serves as an executive producer on the series, while Rhea lends her vocals for a guest starring role.
“I love it,” adds Lucy. “I’m very happy that we can do this. We can spend time together.’ Her father confirms this, adding that “every day we communicate about the show, about other things. We also have other things that we are developing as a company. Seriously, we talk every day A little demon.”
While it’s been fun working together, it hasn’t been without its challenges, as Danny notes: “with the pandemic and everyone being separated, we’ve done a lot of that on Zoom.” Despitethese obstacles, DeVito, along with the help of creative people like Dan Harmon, put together a fun animated comedy that can appeal to even the most diabolical personalities.
