Local Review: Softball in the Hazelton area predominates in the wild seventh inning

Hazelton Square rallied with four passes at the bottom of the seventh after Crestwood scored five times at the top of the half when the Cougars won 7-6 at a softball conference in Wyoming Valley.

Lauren Daniels Hamerad for Hazelton area Gabriel Terracino and If Juris each had a double and two RBI. Mackenna Balay also had two RBIs.

Lauren Kalinowski was 3-on-3 with two RBIs for Crestwood. Kayla Vishnevsky finished 2-on-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Nick Matson had a memorable day, striking a four-pointer in six halves without a conference.

Mattson finished 4-on-4 on a plate with three RBIs, scattering four singles to go with 11 strikeouts on the mound.

Owen Brown (two RBIs), Aiden Everett (two doubles, two RBIs) and Brandon Wozniak (triples, RBIs) finished with two strokes.
