The Monarchs set a new milestone but did not open the season on the road.

Sophomore Jack Cooper scored the lone goal for the Kings and leads the young program’s career scoring list with 14. Cooper’s tally pulled the Monarchs within 3-1 in the second period, but the host Golden Eagles quickly responded and pulled away.
