Lupita Nyong’o falls out of “Lady in the Lake” Celebrities

Lupita Nyongo dropped out of the mini-series “Lady in the Lake”.

The 39-year-old Lupita was supposed to star with Natalie Portman and be the executive producer of the 2019 film adaptation of Lori Lipman’s novel on Apple TV +, but now she has left the project, according to Variety.

Portman remains co-host and executive producer and will co-star with I’Lan Noel, Mikey Madison and Brett Gelman.

Filming in Baltimore began a month ago, so Lupita will need to be replaced as soon as possible.

“Lady in the Lake” unfolds in Baltimore in the 1960s, where a housewife who became a novice reporter, Maddie Schwartz (Portman), pursues the murder of a forgotten young woman.

Earlier, Lupita was forced to give up another television role in 2020, when she came out of the HBO Max film adaptation of Chimamanda’s Ngozi Adichi “American” because of schedule problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lupita and Dana Gurira were to become the executive producers of the project, with Lupita in the lead role, and Dana wrote and acted as the showrunner.

The network received an order for 10 series, which starred together Uza Aduba, Cory Hawkins, Zachary Momo and Tyrene Oyenusi.

However, the series was stopped after Lupita left.
