Mel C wants to perform on Broadway.
The Spice Girls singer has appeared in London theater productions including Blood Brothers and Jesus Christ Superstar, but heading to New York to tread the boards remains a bucket list ambition.
She told Britain’s OK! magazine: “There are old classics that we’ll never get tired of, as well as plenty of new ones.
“I was lucky enough to master the West End, so now I would like to go to Broadway.
“It’s definitely a thing for me — I don’t know what would be an ideal thing for me.
“Chicago is a classic, so imagine playing Roxie Hart on Broadway! But who knows?
“I am open to ideas. Bring on New York!”
The ‘Northern Star’ singer released her eighth solo studio album ‘Melanie C’ in 2020 and admitted it “felt amazing” when she was finally able to perform the tracks live once the COVID-19 restrictions were lifted.
She said: “It was an absolute dream to be able to perform live in front of huge crowds this year.
“It’s a joy to see the looks on people’s faces when they sing along to your songs and feel that freedom at the same time.
“At first it was weird to perform my songs live and I almost wasn’t allowed, but I’m so lucky to be doing this job every day because you can see how it affects people’s happiness.
“To feel the energy bounce off other people again was wonderful.
“I’ve been promoting this album on Zoom from my living room couch, so this year has been like catching up on everything we’ve missed.
“Performing these songs now is amazing.”
