Oley Turnpike Dairy Says Goodbye After 52 Years | Berks Regional News

OLEY TWP., Pa. – An iconic Berks County business is saying goodbye after more than half a century.
Sunday was the last day for the Oley Turnpike Dairy Farm and Zoo as the owners retire.
Longtime customers stopped by one last time to enjoy cool treats and pet the animals.
“I used to go here a lot as a kid,” Madison Hegeman said. “I used to go here with my dad after softball games, with all my friends. It’s a pity that it is not there and will not be here again.”
“I grew up in Ollie from a very young age and my family would bring us here, mostly on weekends, and my younger brother and I would feed the animals and get ice cream,” said another long-time customer.
The owners thanked staff, customers and friends for their support over the years.
The owners say that there will be suitable homes for all the animals.
