Partner of Lancaster City and Church World Services for the Weelcoming Week Immigrant Painting Project Life and culture

Just during the welcoming week in September, the city of Lancaster and the World Church Services are looking for an immigrant artist or refugee in downtown Pennsylvania to create a mural.

The selected artist will work with renowned Lancaster mourner Sean Yorty on the project and will receive a $ 15,000 scholarship to complete the work. The mural will be placed on the wall of the Ganse Apothecary, 355 W. King St.

Applications for the project must be completed by Monday, April 25, and can be submitted in writing online or through a recorded audio interview with Yorty. The process will also include two public engagement sessions, in May and June, to receive recommendations for project implementation. Immigrants or refugees from Lancaster, Berks, Dauphin, Cumberland, York and Lebanon are eligible to apply.
