Past Women’s Winners and Records – NBC10 Philadelphia

After a season of hard-fought competition, the US Open is back, and the hardcores are ready to dust it off.

The annual tennis showdown will take place over two weeks, starting on Monday, August 29 and ending on Sunday, September 11, and will feature a host of tennis superstars including Ons Jaber, Emma Radukanu and Coco Gauff.

Radukan’s landmark victory at the US Open last year made her the first singles qualifier in the Open era to win a Grand Slam title.

She also became the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title since Virginia Wade at Wimbledon in 1977.

As this is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year, let’s delve into the history of the event, including past winners and women’s records. (Check the men’s records here.)
