Penn State is considering selling alcohol at Beaver Stadium

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (KDKA) — Penn State is considering selling alcohol at Beaver Stadium for the 2022 season, according to the Center Daily Times.
The newspaper, citing sources, said the university is exploring the possibility of selling alcohol on the field at Beaver Stadium, a month after the new athletic director said the department needs to find more ways to monetize the venue.
The Center Daily Times reports that there are currently plans to conduct a test run of selling alcohol during the game against Central Michigan on September 24th.
A Penn State official told the Center Daily Times that selling alcohol in the stadium is under consideration, but the university will need additional approval before moving forward.
The sale of alcohol is still allowed only in closed premises and boxes.
