The shooting took place on Fifth Avenue and Seneca Street. A man and a woman were in the car when the shooter fired, officials said.

The man was taken to a local hospital in critical but stable condition, Pittsburgh Public Safety reported. Officials initially said the woman was also shot, but the Public Security Service clarified that she suffered a head injury after the car hit a pole.

Police questioned and found out the man was involved in the shooting. While at police headquarters, he tried to run away from officers but was quickly apprehended.
