If you still have ballots in the mail, they must be received at your district election office by 8 p.m.
This election cycle has a number of races that could greatly affect the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania and even the country. A seat in the U.S. Senate, which is currently held by Republican from Lehigh County Pat Tumi, may be seized after Tumi decided not to seek re-election. Republicans want a place to possibly change the balance of power in this body. Democrats want to consolidate their positions. The whole country will watch this race on both sides of the aisle.
Closer to home, in the 7th constituency of Congress, where the incumbent is Democrat Susan Wilde, the Republican race is being actively watched. Lisa Scheler, who lost to Wilde in 2020, will meet Kevin Delicker. Republicans hope to regain the House of Representatives, and 7th place in the fall many consider abandoned.
Finally, a Pennsylvania governor’s seat is available because incumbent Gov. Tom Wolfe is limited. Republicans have many contenders. The Democrats have one. This race will have a long way to go in shaping Pennsylvania over the next four years.
