Nearing the end of Thursday’s five-game marathon, it looked like York Catholic might finally be able to stop a persistent Delaunay Catholic team. However, on each of the four different occasions that the Irish led in the decisive fifth game of the matchup, the Squirrels pulled away.

Persistence paid off after the final lead change as back-to-back kills by Marley Rudolph gave Delone the game-clinching and 3-2 victory over the previously undefeated Irish in a YAIAA Division 3 volleyball match at Shepherd Gymnasium in McSherrystown.
