Somerset’s serve closes Reading in the series finale

Johnny Britt and four Rileyrs teamed up in four strikers when the Somerset Patriots defeated Reading Fighting Phils 4-1 in the final of their Eastern League series of six games Sunday in Bridgewater, New Jersey.
Brita prevented earned runs and three strokes in five innings, two strikeouts and two moves.
Anthony Volpe went 2-on-3 with a solo home run in the first inning for Somerset (26-12), who finished first in the Northeast Division after taking 5 of 6 from Reading.
Max Burt made a tie-break flight in the fifth inning for the Patriots and an RBI double in the seventh.
Logan O’Hop had a double in the RBI in the first inning for the Fightins (17-22), who will begin a six-game series against Binghamton on Tuesday at FirstEnergy Stadium.
