Sunday’s Chicago White Sox-Cleveland Guardians game postponed due to ‘unsuitable playing conditions’ at Progressive Field – Reading Eagle

Sunday’s game between the Chicago White Sox and the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field has been postponed due to “unplayable conditions.” – announced the Guards.

It rained in the area for part of the morning. The rescheduled date was not immediately announced.

The third-place Sox are 2 1/2 games behind the first-place Guardians in the American League Central.

The teams split the shortened weekend series. The Guardians won 5-2 on Friday behind 14 strikeouts from starter Tristan McKenzie. The Sox won Saturday’s game 2-0 behind 8⅔ stellar innings from Johnny Cueto.

The Sox travel to Kansas City, Mo., for a one-game homestand against the Royals on Monday at Kauffman Stadium before heading to Baltimore for a three-game series against the Orioles beginning Tuesday.

On the pitching side, Michael Kopech is slated to start Monday against the Royals. Dylann Seaz, who was scheduled to start Sunday, will start Tuesday in Baltimore. Lucas Gialito and Lance Lynn are the likely Sox pitchers on Wednesday and Thursday.
