(Central Square) – Leaders in Texas and Washington, D.C., praised Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s designation of Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. This step, in their opinion, is necessary not only for the protection of Texans and Americans, but, as they hope, will lead to the governor announcing an invasion of the southern border.

“Fentanyl is an underground killer, and Texans are being victimized by the Mexican cartels that produce it,” Abbott said Wednesday at a border summit in Midland, Texas, surrounded by law enforcement. “Cartels are terrorists, and it’s time for us to treat them as such. In fact, more Americans died from fentanyl poisoning last year than from all terrorist attacks worldwide in the last 100 years. In order to save our country, especially our next generation, we must do more to get fentanyl off our streets.”
