PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The community gathered for a prayer vigil after two 17-year-olds were shot dead in the Allentown neighborhood of Pittsburgh almost a year apart.
The South Pittsburgh Coalition for Peace organized an event in honor of Isaiah Clancy and Isaiah Anderson.
Clancy was killed last year.
“I wouldn’t wish this pain on anyone. It hurts every day,” said Clancy Erlin’s mother.
Almost a year later a friend of Clancy’s Isaiah Anderson was killed near the same market.
The organizer of the vigil, the Rev. Eileen Smith, is calling for an end to the violence.
“We know that this violence disproportionately affects the black community, and they need more role models. There needs to be more street propaganda, more intervention, ”Smith said.
